REIDSVILLE — Pella Corporation will close its Rockingham County manufacturing plant by Jan. 31, 2027, eliminating 133 jobs.
The N.C. Department of Commerce’s 2026 WARN summary lists the action as a permanent closure. The notice was filed and received Oct. 15 for the facility at 310 Rockingham Drive.
WFDD reported that separations could begin as early as Dec. 3 and that final layoffs are expected by the end of January. Some employees will receive at least eight weeks of severance, according to the report.
A Pella spokesperson told WFDD the decision followed a review of manufacturing capacity and expected demand. The company said it has more capacity than needed and expects stronger growth in other parts of the country.
The Reidsville plant opened in 2019 after state and Rockingham County incentives totaling nearly $1.6 million. WFDD reported that county approval required Pella to create and maintain 124 full-time positions through the end of 2026.
The closure removes a manufacturing employer from Rockingham County and begins a transition for 133 workers. The available records establish the closure, workforce impact and prior incentive terms; they do not state whether any incentive will be repaid.
