BURLINGTON — Labcorp has agreed to pay $210 million in cash, plus the value of inventory at closing, for Myriad Genetics’ prenatal health testing business, expanding the Burlington-headquartered laboratory company’s reproductive genetics portfolio.

The transaction covers four tests: Prequel, Foresight, SneakPeek and FirstGene. The companies said the portfolio was used by more than 600,000 patients through thousands of providers during the 12 months preceding the announcement.

Labcorp and Myriad said they expect the transaction to close by early 2027, subject to regulatory clearance and customary closing conditions. Until then, the testing business remains with Myriad.

Labcorp expects the acquired business to contribute about $160 million in revenue during its first year after closing. The company said it expects the transaction to be slightly accretive to adjusted earnings in that first year and for the business to reach average margins for Labcorp’s diagnostics segment by the end of its second year after full integration.

MedTech Dive independently reported that the assets would expand Labcorp’s specialty-testing portfolio for women’s health. The publication also reported that Myriad’s prenatal-test revenue fell 16% from a year earlier to $81.7 million during the first half of 2026, giving Labcorp a turnaround and integration challenge alongside the growth opportunity.

For North Carolina, the agreement represents a nine-figure portfolio investment by one of the state’s largest public companies. Labcorp did not announce North Carolina job additions, facility changes or a relocation tied to the deal, so the immediate consequence is strategic and financial rather than a disclosed local employment project.

The $210 million headline price does not include the inventory payment due at closing. The companies also cautioned that the timing and expected financial benefits remain forward-looking until regulatory review is complete and the transaction closes.
