MADISON – Nscale closed a senior secured delayed draw term loan facility providing up to $1.2 billion for an artificial-intelligence computing deployment at a 96-acre colocation site in Madison, Rockingham County, the company announced Aug. 31.
Nscale said the financing will fund site retrofit capital expenditures, GPU infrastructure and associated networking required for high-performance AI computing. The company describes the North Carolina site as a partner-run data center with up to 40 megawatts of capacity.
The company’s announcement said J.P. Morgan and Goldman Sachs served as joint lead arrangers, joint bookrunners and co-structuring agents for two facilities totaling approximately $3 billion. Goldman Sachs served as lead left arranger for the North Carolina facility. Nscale did not disclose the amount initially drawn, the interest rate or the maturity date.
Rockingham County previously identified the property as WhiteFiber’s former industrial site in the town of Madison. A Bit Digital filing says WhiteFiber’s subsidiary entered a 10-year colocation services agreement with Nscale in November 2025 and that the Madison facility is at 805 Island Drive. Nscale’s infrastructure page says the site has 99 megawatts of secured power from Duke Energy.
The distributed PR Newswire version of Nscale’s release calls the location Madison County. Rockingham County records and Nscale’s own infrastructure page place the 96-acre site in the town of Madison in Rockingham County.
