MOCKSVILLE – ProVia LLC plans to invest $120 million in a 580,000-square-foot window manufacturing plant expected to create 400 jobs in Davie County.
The Ohio-based building-products manufacturer will build on a 79-acre site in the TriWest Business Center off Farmington Road. Davie County Economic Development said ProVia has agreed to purchase the build-ready property, which is graded, zoned and served by utilities.
The new operation will make vinyl windows and patio doors for customers in the southeastern United States. Construction is expected to begin immediately, with completion anticipated in 2028. The Mocksville facility would become ProVia’s 10th production site. The family-owned company employs more than 3,000 people and currently operates manufacturing facilities in Ohio and Mississippi.
The jobs are expected to be added in phases and pay an average annual salary of $66,326, compared with Davie County’s average of $52,772. State officials said the positions could produce more than $26.5 million in annual payroll for the region.
The state’s Economic Investment Committee approved a performance-based Job Development Investment Grant that could reimburse ProVia as much as $3,280,500 over 12 years. Payments would be made only after the company meets annual job-creation and investment requirements verified by the departments of Commerce and Revenue.
North Carolina estimates the project will add $1 billion to the state’s economy during the grant term. Because Davie County is classified as Tier 3, the agreement also could direct as much as $1,093,500 to the state’s Industrial Development Fund – Utility Account for infrastructure projects in rural communities.
