Sumit Sukhramani joins Truist as head of lending technology

CHARLOTTE – Sumit Sukhramani has joined Truist as head of lending technology after serving in technology leadership roles at Wells Fargo.

Sukhramani announced the move Sept. 2 in a public LinkedIn post, saying he had begun the new role. His public profile lists Charlotte as his location.

Before joining Truist, Sukhramani led technology work tied to consumer lending at Wells Fargo. A 2023 industry event identified him as a Wells Fargo chief information officer responsible for auto-lending and consumer-lending technology, and a later public post identified him as a home-lending technology CIO.

The appointment places Sukhramani in a senior technology role within Truist’s lending business. Truist is headquartered in Charlotte and reported $556 billion in total assets as of June 30, 2026.

The reviewed sources did not disclose compensation, changes to employment levels or a broader technology reorganization tied to the appointment.
