WILMINGTON — A 109-room Holiday Inn Express & Suites at 839 Medical Center Drive sold for $12.95 million in a completed commercial-property transaction.
The property changed hands Sept. 14 from Kismet Wilmington LLC to Savannah-area Ideal Hospitality, according to WilmingtonBiz, which cited deed records. The four-story hotel contains nearly 60,000 square feet on about two acres.
Kismet began construction in 2018 and opened the hotel in 2019. Cushman & Wakefield brokers David Greenberg, Rick Redmond and Chris Passeggiata handled the sale. The property had been listed for $14.7 million since October 2024 and drew more than 20 tours and at least 10 offers, WilmingtonBiz reported.
Ideal Hospitality, whose official site lists Hugh Osborne as vice president of operations, plans a renovation beginning next year under an IHG property-improvement plan, according to WilmingtonBiz. The buyer already operates other IHG-branded hotels and opened a Home2 Suites in Wilmington in 2024.
IHG’s official hotel page identifies the property as Holiday Inn Express & Suites Wilmington West–Medical Park and confirms the 839 Medical Center Drive address. The hotel remains open under the same brand; the sources do not disclose financing terms, employment changes or an interruption in operations.
