CHARLOTTE — Intrepid Investment Bankers added a 14-person mergers-and-acquisitions team, bringing its Charlotte office to 23 employees and launching a new Business & Financial Services practice.
Intrepid’s official announcement says the experienced team doubles the size of the Charlotte office. James Miller leads the group alongside managing directors Chris Parides and Ryan Soer. Intrepid said the bankers have worked together for more than a decade.
Charlotte Business Journal independently reported that the office now has 23 employees and identified the additions as Deloitte hires. The publication places Intrepid’s Charlotte office at 201 S. Tryon St. in Uptown.
The 14 additions account for about 61% of the current Charlotte headcount. That scale makes the move more than a routine executive appointment: it adds an established deal team and a dedicated practice to Intrepid’s local operation.
Intrepid advises middle-market companies on mergers, acquisitions and capital transactions. The firm is a member of MUFG, giving the expanded Charlotte team access to a global financial-services platform while it serves founder-owned, family-owned and private-equity-backed businesses.
The business consequence is increased Charlotte capacity for middle-market dealmaking and a larger local investment-banking operation. Neither source reviewed by NC Business Desk disclosed capital investment, compensation, transaction targets or whether the transfers create any net-new jobs in North Carolina, so those effects are not claimed.
