CARY — Pure Air North Carolina filed a voluntary Chapter 11 case after reporting $5.4 million in 2025 revenue, more than twice its 2024 total.

The public bankruptcy docket shows that the Cary company filed Sept. 18 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina. The court classifies Case 26-04250-5-JNC as a voluntary Chapter 11 asset case assigned to Judge Joseph N. Callaway.

Triangle Business Journal reported Sept. 22 that Pure Air listed slightly more than $3 million in liabilities and about $1.8 million in assets. The company reported $5.4 million in gross revenue for 2025, up from $2.4 million in 2024, and nearly $3.2 million through Sept. 18 this year, according to the report.

The independent report says Pure Air turned to merchant cash advances after its primary lender departed. Those financing arrangements can provide rapid working capital in exchange for future receipts, but the court record reviewed for this article does not determine the validity or priority of any individual creditor claim.

The docket lists 21 creditors and schedules a meeting of creditors for Oct. 22. It sets Jan. 20, 2027, as the deadline to file claims and Dec. 21 as the deadline to object to discharge.

Pure Air’s official site describes the locally owned business as a provider of mold, water-damage and crawl-space services across the Raleigh and Charlotte metropolitan areas. The site does not address the bankruptcy filing.

The filing places financing and creditor claims for a multimillion-dollar North Carolina home-services company under court supervision. The records reviewed do not announce a liquidation, closure, layoffs or changes to specific service areas, and the Chapter 11 case remains active.
