WILMINGTON — Dark Horse Stages’ 131,798-square-foot film-production campus on 11.51 acres has been listed for sale, placing four Wilmington sound stages on the market.
The commercial property listing describes 301 Harley Road as a fully built-out warehouse, flex and office campus represented by Lee & Associates Raleigh Durham Wilmington. The listing does not disclose an asking price.
The property includes four large warehouse buildings totaling about 83,250 square feet. Warehouses 1 and 2 total about 42,500 square feet, while Warehouses 3 and 4 total about 40,750 square feet, according to the listing. The campus also includes office and flex space, loading access and more than 500 parking spaces.
WECT reported Sept. 24 that listing agent Russell Stewart confirmed Dark Horse Stages is subject to offers. The station independently confirmed that a public sale price has not been disclosed and reported that Dark Horse owner Kirk Englebright had not yet provided additional comment.
Dark Horse’s official studio page identifies the same Harley Road campus as its main Wilmington location. The company lists 82,500 square feet of current stage space, 12,500 square feet of office space, 19,000 square feet of mill shops and 9,000 square feet of flex space. Those operating categories are not presented as a substitute for the listing’s total building-area measurement.
Dark Horse says it was founded in 2020. Stages 3 and 4 expanded the campus with 40,750 square feet of stage space, matching the combined area shown for those buildings in the sale listing.
The listing creates a potential ownership and real-estate transition for an active Wilmington production campus. The records reviewed do not identify a buyer, completed sale, closing date, facility shutdown, employee change or change in studio operations. The listing also says the property could be subdivided only subject to applicable approvals and final site design.
