GREENSBORO – Janus Living bought Harmony at Greensboro, a 174-unit senior living community, for $123.5 million in the company’s first North Carolina acquisition.

Triad Business Journal reported that Janus bought the property from a Virginia-based operator. Connect CRE identified the seller as Smith/Packett and reported that the company will continue operating the community.

The property at 3420 Whitehurst Road occupies 6.65 acres and contains 193,673 square feet, according to Connect CRE. The N.C. Division of Health Service Regulation lists Harmony at Greensboro at that address under license HAL-041-086.

The state record lists 92 licensed adult-care beds at the facility. The transaction reports describe the broader community as a 174-unit campus serving independent living, assisted living and memory-care residents.

Connect CRE reported that construction on the $38 million community began in 2018 and the property opened in March 2020.

The acquisition marks Janus Living’s entry into North Carolina. Connect CRE reported that the senior-housing owner operates 42 communities across 11 states.

The completed $123.5 million sale transfers ownership of a regulated Greensboro senior-housing campus and expands a multistate owner into North Carolina. The price, property scale and first-in-state expansion make the transaction the central business consequence.
