MEBANE — Kingsdown has secured an exclusive agreement to supply its Wesley mattress collection through Mattress Firm, a deal expected to add production shifts and hiring at the manufacturer’s Mebane operation.
Triad Business Journal reported the agreement and its expected local operating impact on Sept. 22. The arrangement places the Mebane-based company’s Wesley line with Mattress Firm.
Mattress Firm is already listing multiple Wesley models, including the 17-inch Lux Medium Pillowtop. Its product page identifies the mattress as a Kingsdown product and directs warranty claims to Kingsdown in Mebane, confirming the active retail relationship.
Kingsdown lists Mebane among nine manufacturing facilities across North America and among five U.S. locations. The company has not disclosed the agreement’s value, a job count, a hiring timetable or a related capital-investment figure.
The business consequence is distribution and production scale: the exclusive retail agreement broadens the sales channel for a North Carolina manufacturer while creating an expected need for more shifts and workers. It is not a plant-expansion announcement or a completed capital investment.
