GOLDSBORO – QT Corporation plans to invest approximately $49.2 million in a new Wayne County manufacturing facility that is expected to create 188 jobs.

The plant will be built at Park East Industrial Park, where QT plans to manufacture and distribute power-control systems and switchboards for customers across the United States. The company said construction is expected to begin immediately.

QT President Jimmy Sauls said demand for power infrastructure tied to renewable energy, data centers and electrification is driving the expansion. QT and sister company Epec Solutions already operate in Wayne County.

Wayne County’s public project record identified the development as Project Site and tied it to Lots 7A and 7C, totaling 41.17 acres at Park East. The county record lists a $2.5 million land sale and consideration of an economic incentive grant of up to $1.3 million over 10 years in exchange for $49.191 million in capital improvements and 188 jobs.

The project adds a sizable manufacturing investment to eastern North Carolina’s energy-infrastructure supply chain. QT said the facility will increase production capacity and consolidate more manufacturing under one roof.

The cited records do not establish an opening date, wage schedule or final incentive payments. Construction is expected to begin immediately, but the investment and job figures remain commitments.
